In this Post, "Vision Leaks", David Chatelier, Senior Pastor of Canterbury Baptist Church in Melbourne, Australia, writes about the tendency for vision to erode. He writes, "I'm sure I can come up with a multitude of reasons why vision leaks. But every significant vision takes both energy and focus for dream to become reality. A better marriage? A fitter lifestyle? A deeper spirituality? A more effective church?Articulating vision; owning vision; living vision - unless we are constantly reminded, challenged, confronted and convinced, vision will leak until it remains no more."

3 Plug(s)

David Chatelier, Senior Pastor of Canterbury Baptist Church in Melbourne, Australia, comments on where a believer places his values."I spoke recently about Jesus' well known words to His disciples, "Don't be anxious; seek God's Kingdom; don't be afraid." In the midst of considering ravens and lilies, Jesus invites us to trust that God knows our needs and will meet our needs. But the key lies in orienting our lives around God's purposes. This seems particularly apt when there is so much anxiety about our financial markets."

2 Plug(s)

David Chatelier, senior pastor of Canterbury Baptist Church in Melbourne Australia, writes on his feeling about the current world financial crisis."When the world's most powerful capitalist nation speaks of free market economies while maintaining trade barriers and tariffs, I become skeptical. When the mantra is that market forces should be given free rein by non-interventionist governments, I become skeptical. So when former US Federal Reserve Chairman, Paul Voiker says, "These kinds of measures - government guarantees and interventions - are really distasteful... However distasteful, I'm afraid they were necessary in this emergency to restore some sense of stability and confidence'' my skepticism only increases."

2 Plug(s)

In this post, David discusses the importance of Children's Ministries. "It is children who welcome the King and enter His Kingdom with a natural simplicity of faith. Adults need to move outside ourselves - outside our cynicism and "sophistication" - and first become like children again before we truly grasp the simplicity and miracle of transforming faith in Jesus. And that's hard work. But being childlike is natural for a child."

2 Plug(s)

I love to be nude.it is good to be nude. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the human form. Nothing in nature has an artificial covering .Why do we. Granted there are times one has to have clothes on to protect the skin, but is not always necessary .we absorb vit d from the suns rays .The mans testicles can better regulate their tempiture to produce more sperm. A covering raises the genitals tempiture so the balls drop further from the body, but the balls can only drop so far. A common feeling one gets from walking nude is a sense of freedom. This is not just a coincidence. We were meant to feel this way. Clothes glorify men and what they can do. The skin of the human body glorifies God in what he can do.We are taught from birth to be ashamed, repulsed, embarrassed or shocked of a nude body that is natural. The so called religious people are against the very things that God himself has made. Who is the one that is against God a4. I don't think I have to tell you. No condemnation before investigation.I don't know who to send this to.

2 Plug(s)

In this post, David Chatelier comments on disciple making.I think about Jesus' method of disciple making. He did a lot of walking with his disciples. He made observations about life, "Consider the lilies of the field...". He told stories in response to questions, "A certain man was travelling down from Jerusalem to Jericho...". He spent much time eating and drinking, to the point where his opponents dubbed him a glutton and a drunkard. Jesus did life with people, and in the course of life He made disciples. He measured their discipleship not by how faithfully they attended meetings, but by how much they loved each other.Maybe we place too much store on the next great discipling program. Maybe we are so time poor that we structure in discipleship as one small component of our lives. Maybe we should do more life together. And more walking..."

2 Plug(s)

David Chatelier, Senior Pastor of Canterbury Baptist Church in Melbourne,Australia, blogs about the immediacy of unscripted preaching. "I don't usually script my sermons because I find that I can't preach with passion from written notes and also because I loose the sense of immediacy and openness to what the Spirit may be saying through the earlier part of the service. The flip side is that by not crafting my sermon in the quietness of an office, I don't have the opportunity to choose just the right verbs and adjectives, to consult a thesaurus, or to minimise the pauses filled with annoying ummm's and ahhh's.But I really appreciate immediacy.Sometimes immediacy is not so good..."

2 Plug(s)
