Hey, thanks for submitting this, phsyl! I try not to submit too much of my own stuff and rather let others do that if they think it's valuable.

Wow, that sounds like "Death by Meeting" to me! Maybe that would be an improvement for some ministries, but the staff at my church officially meets for only an hour each week. My youth staff only meets together about three times a year: Christmas party, fall ministry start-up meeting, summer ministry wrap-up meeting. With 60-some adult youth workers, we've found other ways to communicate instead of meeting all the time.

Our jr. high students go through the entire Bible and church history in two years -- OT one year, NT and church history the next year, each in small groups. By the time they reach high school, they have a pretty solid overview of the Bible and it's impact on history. I'm honestly very proud of the program.

I sent the info to my pastor. Hopefully he'll consider it.

I use Photoshop all the time, so I'm pretty familiar with it. Haven't checked out Gimp for a year or two, so I went to download it, but alas there's no real version for Mac. Oh well.

Thanks for letting me know about gimp. I use photoshop at the church but I am trying to encourage youth and adults who work with our visuals to create their own backgrounds.. many of them do not have photoshop or other expensive software. And yes I agree.. I know alot but I have youth who can run circles around me when it comes to this stuff.

This sounds like it will be an awesome experience and I love the idea of everyone giving to a single cause. God will truly bless this effort.

If you think this is bizzare then you need to read the "My Little Bimbo plug. It blew me away.

If you are challenged in either photoshop or gimp then find a student who can do it well. I am certain that you have one.

These are some good basic tips. Note Wendy's provide the freshest meats in fast food to my understanding.

The "Don't Feed The Bears" link goes straight to the mp3 file now. The Facebook link goes to the page and you can also play it from there.

yeah, unless you're spending lots of time making your podcasts exciting, i don't think i would take the time to load it or llisten to it...which begs the question: how much time should be spent on one form of communication. I depend heavily on a combination of emails, phone calls, post cards, text messages, and person to person communication to try to get the word out...it's not enough, but can you ever communicate enough?

Not sure it works hermetically, but I like the tie between the two passages. Now if we could just hear the song...

Pretty straight-forward suggestions, although finding nutrition facts isn't always quite as easy as asking for it. Check out the movie "Super-Size Me."

Yeah, I've used Gimp before, too. It's has a bit of a learning curve, though, especially if you're already used to Photoshop.

A better idea would be to make name lanyards out of car air fresheners!

If you don't have Adobe Photoshop then you definitely should get gimp (www.gimp.org). It's free and does just about everything photoshop does.

Maybe the "deceptiveness," real or not, is comparable to Rahab's situation. But, I think there is a problem when Christians won't allow someone who disagrees with them to pre-screen a movie he appeared in. Are we afraid we're wrong? If not, why not let him in?

There was a press conference on Expelled this past Friday, and Stein and the producers specifically addressed this issue, and a couple other controversial points. Here's the link: http://subthemag.com/tss/2008/03/31/ben-stein-expels-some-expelled-rumors/68
